About Sibe

Sibe

The name Sibe is not easy to pronounce so let me help…

Think of the word five and replace the “f” with an “s”.

A little about me....

Training as a beauty therapist has been somewhat of a pipedream since I was in my teens.

Whilst living in Malaysia, my mother used to have a mobile therapist by the name of Florence come to the house and carry out facial treatments on my brother and I.  Both of us suffered from hormonal breakouts which were further exacerbated by the humidity and the application of SPF sunblock. Florence had been to Paris to train and I was hugely impressed by her knowledge and product range. My fascination into the beauty therapy world was further piqued when I moved to Paris for a year and befriended a French girl who was studying to become a beautician. I desperately wanted to enrol in her course but unfortunately was not brave enough to deviate from the plan to attend university.  I returned to Melbourne in Australia to study French and Japanese at Monash University.

After graduating, I moved to London.  For the next few years I worked in many industries and in many roles.  My first role was working  for Bourjois (a French makeup company) from which I moved to Harrods managing their Customer Services department.   I accepted a position to work for UBS Investment Bank and remained there until after having my daughter and son. When my youngest was 15 months old, I gave up work to become a full-time mother. Whilst I admire any woman who can successfully balance a fledgling career in the City whilst raising two young children, I was on my knees!

Years later and with my youngest at university, I had the luxury of starting anew. I returned to college to study beauty therapy. I loved every minute! Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t easy being amongst such young classmates, many of whom were younger than my own two children, but I loved it.  I loved learning all about our anatomy and physiology and the various advanced spa and beauty treatments.

A year before COVID, I set up a home salon and started treating friends and family.  I have grown slowly through word of mouth and tailored my treatments.  I take pride in the treatments I offer and the atmosphere I have created within the beauty space.
